Interview with a Filipino Flight Attendant from Cebu Pacific Air

This page used to contain an interview with a Filipino flight attendant, Precious Chico and her journey to becoming a cabin crew of Cebu Pacific. The post has inspired so much people, went viral and popular online but due to massive inquiries and unexpected messages, Precious has contacted me and requested to pull out the post for privacy reason and to avoid unstoppable questions, messages and inquiries sent to her. Philpad respects her and her privacy so we deleted the interview here.

Furthermore, we are still open for related interviews about cabin crew. If you want to be featured, just contact us and we will email you.

Just want to share the best advice Precious has shared to all the Filipinos who dream the same dream to become a Flight Attendant:

Don’t be afraid to chase your dream. Nothing will happen if you keep on dreaming but do nothing to achieve it. 🙂 Be 100% sure that you want the job If you failed the first time, try and try until God gave it to you. 🙂 Most important thing is not to lose hope and wear you genuine smile at all times :)”

Like all of you guys here, this has also been my ultimate dream since I first laid my eyes on a FA uniform. But unlike many of you, I’m starting to lose hope and was actually about to let go of this dream job that I have long envision myself to be a part of that’s until I come across to this site—

I’ve made a bunch of research and unfortunately I only stand 5’1 in height though my weight is proportional to that of the latter but then that’s just it, I’m a hobbit still (reality sucks). As of my teeth (ewan..bat di nila makuhang mgkapit bisig)the only prob. is that the upper teeth is hndi align sa lower teeth tipong medyo nkausli po.

    — I felt somewhat motivated to pursue my dream coz no matter how many plan b’s I’ve tried to come up with like maybe mg work abroad nlang ako ito prin tlaga yung gsto ko mging FA. Mag tatake nlng ako ng gloxi at mgb.brace. lol thnks po

  15. I find this blog really helpful. Thanks for posting it Fehl!

I recently came into conclusion that I would want to be an FA. I have been undergoing, rather ‘undergone’ depression (I’m feeling optimistic after reading this blog) and one of the main factor is because I felt so uncertain about my future. This is it, something that I want to do. I am sure that I want to get to him, the love of my life, who’s miles away from me. I am sure I want to see Hawaii. Definitely experience the world through traveling…

I have a lot of ‘what if’s’. Yes, I’m tall. Yes, I’m good in communication, both oral and written, may it be in English or Filipino. A big part of me says that I can make it. But by the end of the day, there are still other things that pull me back. I’m 22 and still working through college. I have dark complexion and I just don’t agree with the requirement of having a fair complexion. I think it’s being racist of our own kind. I need to fix my bite teeth. My eyesight is really poor. Basically, I still need to to work a lot on my physical appearance.

BUT.. striving to be a flight attendant makes me build self-confidence. It makes me smile more everyday. It makes me hopeful. I’ve been having issues with myself but THE dream helps me get out of it. I wanna believe too that I can make it. I will make it. All FA hopefuls, we will make it!

  18. Hello Fehl!

I’m Ryan, I just came back from Nagoya to Manila via Cebu Pacific where I met this adorable flight attendant. We talked during the flight as my seat was close to hers at the back of the plane, and we instantly connected really well.

I don’t know if stewardess’ are allowed to give mobile numbers to passengers so I never asked (heavily regret it now), but being the lovely person that she is, she gave me her full name to add on Facebook (even saying “add mo ako ha” as we said good bye). Unfortunately or rather clumsily I couldn’t find it now.. So here I am, gutted that I might not get a chance to met her again.

So I just wanna ask if you know other CebPac flight attendants or personnel that might know her or be willing to help?? Cos its just not everyday we meet someone that enchants you with their personality.

PS. She said she was of Japanese descent, she could speak fluent Japanese, and had a Japanese name (which is why I couldn’t remember).

Maybe I’m kidding myself, the reality is that probably my chance of meeting her again evaporated the moment I couldn’t find her name.. (

  23. Hi, I would like to know If local airlines here in our country is strict with medical? I mean, are they extensive as international airlines like Qatar, Saudia and Emirates? I’ve been suffering from frustration and depression, because I applied at QR last october, and luckily was recommended for the position, but, unfortunately, was Unfit to work due to my fibrosis which I believe considered as a scar. I got it from Pneumonia when I was 1 yr old, my past x-rays were cleared, I kept my copy of xray films for future reference, So after knowing my condition, I consult our Pulmonologist about it, He asked me to bring another x ray film for comparisson. The x ray film that I brought was dated October 2013, and the reading was cleared, so he compare it, to my surprise I really do have that Fibrosis since then.

Well that’s life, Maybe I am not for Middle East, as far as I know, not the company itself is strict with lung conditions but the Middle East coutries itself. So, for now I really want to know, If PR, 2P, 5j, AK and Tiger Air is strict with my condition. Actually my doctor already gave me a Medical Certificate that I am fit to work. This is my dream, that’s why it hurts a lot. </3

  36. Hello Ms. Fehl,

I am inspired by this very informative blog of yours, and with your interview with Ms. Precious. I am a fresh grad and i am one of those who really dream of being a flight attendant. I just want to share that i have an on-going application in Phil. Airlines. My school had a job-fair and as a Tourism Management student I passed my resume in PAL booth, luckily they contacted me. I attended the impact interview and luckily I had a chance. I am under conditional status (there are 3 results, which are Passed, Conditional or they will just offer you another job position). The panels asked me to change my hair color to black and to lose some weight (even though my weight is proportion to my height). Then after a month I decided to go back and they asked me to lose more weight. And after another a month I went back again and finally I passed. I am still waiting for my schedule with the last screening with the President. Even though I passed the screening with the panels, I still don’t have the assurance of having the job. But, after reading this blog it gives me a positive thinking of Having the job. But, i am also planning to apply to Ceb Pac. Thanks Ms. Fhel, please continue to inspire and push people like me. Thank you and God bless.

    • Of course pwedi. English is impressive but if you know you are not so fluent – oral/written, don’t mess it up by pretending you can. Just be confident and be real. I do recommend you improve your English proficiency by watching English movies or shows with subtitles so you read them too while hear them speaking. I recommend watching Gossip Girl. Buy season 1-6 with subtitles. It is so worth it 🙂

    • You can apply even if you didn’t take flight attendant courses. They give proper flight attendant trainings if you are accepted and hired.

If I don’t know how to swim is that a problem when you apply as an FA?or they will teach you how to?I know how to swim at least up to 5ft.only I am just afraid maybe to try on 6ft higher..but if ever swimming lesson is part of the traininf for the said 2 mos. that will really help me to pursue my dream to become and FA. Some of my concerns were already answerd from the comments above and for now this is my only concern

  54. hello Ms. Fehl! Thank you for giving me more confidence after reading your blog! Its really inspiring for those who wanted to be a flight attendant 🙂 just have concern., where do we/ i pass my/ our resume? for provincial area? coz Im from Bicol. is it really need to get there in MNL and apply for walk-in? What specific area /offices will accommodate us? Thanks and more power!

    • Attend the grand recruitment of the airline company. They usually schedule a special day for that. On that day, you’re gonna submit your resume and fill up forms for your application details. On that day, they make physical screening already and initial interviews. If you’re from Bicol, try to apply at the airline’s offices/branches. They would contact you if they need you. Good luck and thank you for the kind words 🙂

  60. Hi Miss Fehl.. It was always been my long time dream to become a Flight Attendant..I wanted to apply but I am here in Cebu. Are there any means to apply? another thing is that, I am a product of Professional Review Network, our review staffs told us that PRN is “somehow” a sister company of Cebu Pacific.

  61. hi ms. fehl 🙂 your blog and ms. precious have been a great motivator by this time for me. 🙂 well this morning, my mom asked me ‘why don’t you try to pursue your childhood dream?” (being FA) i’ve totally got confused and troubled, coz this past few days i’m so depressed in my after grad. life. 🙁 i’m 21 y/o, graduated in BS Nursing and got my license but then i’m still unemployed. I do volunteering in 1 hospital near at my place but i only got pity on myself. yeah, i admit, I love working and giving my service to people esp. my patients but still i’m a human with a human needs. I can’t make it for long as a volunteer nurse and i want to experience to earn money all by myself. As i have read this blog, i’ve got an option, “to establish a new career” without compromising my passion to help others. But as i googled up those requirements listed on different airlines esp. CEBU PACIFIC, they prefer GOOD EYESIGHT applicants, so my hopes down. 🙁 i’m NEARSIGHTED, my doctor already made eyeglasses but i prefer to don’t used it because i can still see enough those scenery and objects far from me. But even though i still can, for sure my eyes grade will appear in examination. SO, HOW IS IT? DO I HAVE TO STEP BACK OR FORWARD to my DREAM? 🙁

    • Never let something stop you from making your dreams come true. Life is a battle. Don’t be a loser by calling it quits without even fighting a test. God’s providence works…we must believe it like we believe in ourselves. Step forward. If you trip, stand up and accept it and move on and be happy. At least you wont be wondering and be asking yourself of some “what ifs”

Smile 🙂 You can do it! Good luck!

  62. i’m a fresh graduate po and its really a pressure to me to find a job and most specially the dream of becoming a Flight Attendant. Pero once i had read this article its boost my confidence in myself that everyone can achieve what they want as long as there are faith and trust na magagawa nila ang pangarap nila. And if its okay i have a few questions po sana how will you know if your weight is proportion to your height? at kapag po ba sakaling matanggap ka at you did a lot of mistakes pwede ka parin po ba mag apply ulit sa kanila? thank you and more powers :D.

    • It’s an advantage but I think they assess applicants fairly. It all starts from the physical screening. If you passed it then dare to survive the next tests…

  64. Hi miss Fehl, this interview is the perfect article that fits on what i am feeling right now..
I am scheduled for the physical screening of CebPac on Monday.. i’m so nervous right know thinking that i would be rejected right away because i have a visible scar on my right shoulder, and when i take off my blaser, it appears very obvious. I got the scar from my childhood chicken pox. Possible po bang hindi ako makapasa sa screening, because of my scar? 🙁 and also, i don’t know how to swim, because i have this aqua-phobia that i developed when i was in 4th grade, when i almost drown in a swimming pool. hmm, do they include swimming lessons in the training or it is required that u r a good swimmer already? Hope to hear from you soon, miss. Thank you and God bless!
