How to verify TIN number online, this is how to recover and retrieve lost or forgotten TIN. If you lost your TIN (Tax ID Number), do not worry because you can retrieve it anytime without going to the BIR office.
Some people want to verify TIN number by name in the Philippines online or simply verify it from the BIR’s online platform, but that service is not yet possible. We hope that the BIR will make an online feature of easy TIN verification soon.
How to Verify TIN Online from the BIR
I lost and misplaced a copy of my TIN recently, and I needed it for banking purposes. I did not memorize it, and I knew I have forgotten to keep another note of it.
So I searched about how to verify, check, and recover lost TIN online and was brought to the BIR TIN Verification System website link. Unfortunately, retrieving TIN online of that link is a dead link, not yet working or apparently not yet in service.
Take note that we are only allowed ONE (1) TIN for life. The BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) in the Philippines strictly forbids having more than one TIN by taxpayers.
If you forgot or lost your tax ID number, you must not get or register a new TIN to avoid major problems on your personal and business profile. Instead, you must recover and verify your TIN from the BIR.
How to Verify and Recover Lost TIN from the BIR?
There are three ways to get back your lost or forgotten TIN. I will list them according to the reliability, speed, and easiest way of getting one.
1. By calling the BIR Hotline
Call the BIR hotline at 981-8888. Follow the voice prompt. You have to press the corresponding number to Verify TIN. You must prepare your complete name, birth date, and address to verify your tax ID number.
2. By going to your BIR RDO
Go to your BIR RDO (BIR Regional District Office) and verify it at the Taxpayers General Services section. You have to show your valid ID, in this case, to confirm your identity.
3. By verifying your TIN online
The BIR has a link for TIN Verification Online called eReg TIN Query, but it is only allowed to be used by authorized parties. If you have access, the eRegistration TIN query provides basic information about taxpayers, including the taxpayer’s name, address, birthdate, TIN, and RDO code.
