New SSS Contribution Table 2014

Effective January 2014, there will be a new SSS Contribution Table so everyone including employers, employees, self-employed, voluntary members and OFWs must know the latest contribution table.

I’ve been to the SSS office two days ago to pay the current quarter’s premiums and as usual to submit R3 reports. The very kind and accommodating employee reminded me about next year’s change of SSS contributions schedule. I asked a copy of the complete schedule for employers, employee, self-employed, OFWs and voluntary members as well. So here I am sharing them to everyone.

Thought to share the latest SSS Contribution table 2014 here. It will be very helpful if you print it out especially if you’re an employer so you can update your employees’ contributions earlier and not rush doing it at the exact time of your payment. I also advise voluntary members, OFWs and self-employed to know the update and check the new amounts from the table to avoid payment errors.

By the way, all members of SSS including employers are now required to have an SSS online account. Apparently, the Social Security System is aiming to make everything online now which is great I think. Eventually, we don’t need to go to the SSS to transact or inquire about our account. There are features on the online account such as viewing premiums, static information, and employment history download that are now working. I hope other features for employers like uploading R3 will be working soon too. I’ve been trying to do the uploading manually online but the system causes errors. I asked that to the SSS too and they said, it would work in the future.

If you want to view and check your SSS account online, we have the ultimate guide here:

You can have tentative computation by going to the SSS branch which handles your account. If you want to maximize your contributions, check the SSS table and if you’re decided, you can update your account at the SSS. Cheers!

    • Guest says

Agree. It’s so unfortunate that the salary credit is only up to 16k from 15k previously. Imagine what value 40% of 16k will hold upon retirement decades from now. What a scary thought. The big difference here vs GSIS is the employee contribution, w/c is approx 30% I think vs 50% in GSIS. With this setup, what employer would want to shoulder the 70% share of about 10% of your salary? Not that many.. Don’t even get me started on the SSS board members’ feeling of entitlement to huge bonuses.. Ugh..

    • Adah says

It is not one of their main concern. ^_^

    • Kedra says

Exactly. Our SSS contributions are being invested to earn profits. Why is it not possible for them, the SSS management and the National Government, to maximize those monies instead of charging more and more from our poor people who does not even get a good service at least. Many have complained of non-payment of pension benefits or of pension delays. We do not get good service from SSS. As an employee, I used to file sick leave benefit claims myself. Instead of being able to get back to work a day earlier, I get back to work a day later because it takes wholeday for the procedure. And the painful part is, I am not reimbursed for the entire number of sick days. Instead, they reduce it into half plus i do not get paid for the extra day I spent filing. How upsetting as well that SSS employees in the medical department are very inefficient…working so slow while taking so much time chatting with colleagues or to someone on the phone. Apparently there is mismanagement of our monies contributed and of the customer service delivery itself.

  2. Gerald says

Ty for the info, do u know someone from the head office wer I can follow up the posting of my contributions, sss las pinas infrmed me that they already forwarded my contributions to the head office, its been 3 three mths now, wla p rin, ang sgot lng sakin sa sss lp, ay hinyin lng daw n post from head office, sobrang tgal, hnde pko mka pg loan, hope u can help me

    • Marifel Dungo says

I don’t know anyone in the head office. But if they told you that it’s been forwarded, wait nalang po. Or you can follow up again so they will always be reminded :)

    • Larry Cardinal says

I have the same question.. I missed paying voluntarily for two months now. Is it possible to pay the last quarter payment till next week?

      • Rose says

you may pay quarterly po for oct-dec 2013 until January 10, 2014…then if your last digit for SSS is 0 or 9 until January 31, 2014 (quarterly oct to dec2013)

        • Alir says

good day po! if i’ll pay pa lng sa january 10, 2014 for the quarterly oct-dec 2013, ung old contribution table po ba gagamitin?

          thanks and God bless!

          • Marifel Dungo says

Yup 2013 schedule will be used for the 2013 contributions. The new contribution table will start effectively on January 2014 for the 2014 contributions and beyond unless they released a new table again

  3. Tonet mariano says

What can i say about this new contribution schedule? Good for the board of directors or officers of SSS it seems that some fat bonuses are on your way again. Poor SSS members who has to shoulder all of your benefits. Hoping that they will adjust the benefits of the members as well. Should benefit both sides especially the members who are religiously paying their monthly contributions. God bless Philippines and all its leaders.

  4. Lysander Canseko says

we are paying our OFW monthly contributions here in Riyadh, KSA..but still my SSS ID is old,Is it possible if your representative here can process for the renewal of new SSS ID ? Thanks

    • Marifel Dungo says

It doesn’t matter if your SSS ID is old as long as you use the same SSS Number for life. If you want the new ID (UMID card) I’m not sure if they have UMID application there in KSA but you can always go to the embassy. I hope SSS rep. also serve UMID application because there are millions of OFWs there. God bless!

    • Adah says

  7. Gina A Bahala says

Kindly advise po at thanks in advance.

    • Rose says

mag stop lng po ang interest and penalty kung fully paid na, so if you want it done, it is best po na the day na babayaran nio pakidobol check ang balance para fully settled na kasi nagbabago po yung amount everyday…Condonation po – waiver of penalty/fine is declared by Malacanang …wala po tayong condonation sa ngayon

      • Onad Sace says

thank you rose for reply. condonation program pala yun.. di kasi ko aware nung time na inannounce yun ng malacanang.

Have a nice day:)

    • Rose says

  12. Adah says

The way i see it even if its sked to be imposed on 2014 its the same premium as what we are contributing since December2012.. ^_^
Hold your comments about the said bonuses given to the heads of these Govt. God Bless us all.

I retired from the then PCIBank more than a decade now. I am just surprised to find out that I have still an outstanding obligation with SSS for the loan I availed early to mid 80’s (am not sure). How could that be when our contributions and amortization for loan any were held at source?

    Thank you.

  15. shiela c. bulacso says

kailangan pa bang pumunta sa office ng sss to inform them na magchange ka ng contribution or automatic pag nagbayad ka ng hulog mo for 2014 eh ung bgong table ng contirbution na gagamitin.

  16. howie says

I still have unpaid first loan from 2002. Till then i was not able to contribute and pay it. I want to continue my SSS. Please help.

    • Baby Mercado says

You can still continue your SSS contribution. Your previous unpaid loan has already garnered interest. Go personally to the nearest SSS branch so you can discuss this personally. Let’s just hope there would be loan condonation.

  17. elizabeth ubaldo dela cruz says

since 1981 up to 2003 maximum po ang premium ko nag stop po ako dahil nagout ako sa trabaho pero noong 2012 nagrenewal po ako dahil nag OFW ako at maximum po ang premium ko P 1,565.00 kada buwan po ang binabayaran ko pwede ko na po ba itong istop ang pagbabayad ko dahil in 3 yrs from now ay mag 60 yrs old na ako at hangang ngayong Dec na lang po akong OFW makukuha ko na po ba ang maximum pension kung magstop na ako ng bayad hangang Dec 2013.

  18. Elmer Ernesto Medenilla says

I paid maximum contributions for 39 years but I did not get the maximum or near to the maximum amount of monthly pension. Why was it so? What is the formula for computing the monthly SSS pension? Why don’t you make it public so the members will know what to expect? I just hope there’s nothing to hide in the computation.

    • Marifel Dungo says

It’s actually available to the public although in definition only. I wish they provide retirement pension calculator online because we deserve it :) According to their website monthly pension is computed by:

“How much monthly pension will a retiree receive?

The monthly pension depends on the members paid contributions, including the credited years of service (CYS) and the number of dependent minor children but not to exceed five. The amount of monthly pension will be the highest of:

      1. the sum of P300 plus 20 percent of the average monthly salary credit plus 2 per cent of the average monthly salary credit for each accredited year of service (CYS) in excess of ten years; or

      2. 40 per cent of the average monthly salary credit; or

      3. P1,200, provided that the credited years of service (CYS) is at least 10 or more but less than 20 or P2,000, if the CYS is 20 or more. The monthly pension is paid for not less than 60 months.

A retiree has the option to receive the first 18 monthly pension in lump sum discounted at a preferential rate of interest to be determined by the SSS. The option should be exercised upon filing of the first retirement claim. Only advance payments shall be discounted on the date of the payment. The dependents’ pension and 13th month pensions are excluded from the 18 months lump sum pension.

The member will receive the monthly pension on the 19th month and every month thereafter.”

According to the SSS website, if a member has contributed at least 120 monthly contributions, he/she will be entitled for retirement benefits (monthly pension) but for those who contributed less than 120 monthly contributions, they will receive lump sum or cash amount at the age of 60 (retirement age)

    • Marifel Dungo says

They are special program that’s why they are not offered all the time. SSS always announce it when they offer condonation program. We can also know if there is Condonation by looking at our SSS Online Account via the Profile Page

  22. ronnie francisco says

i paid my monthly contribution regularly,
when i reach the age of 60,what benefit from sss may i receieved?

    • Marifel Dungo says

If you reached 60 and had contributed at least 120 months in SSS, you’re eligible for retirement benefits in the form of monthly pension. That monthly pension will be for life as long as you live. If you’ve contributed below the required 120 months, you’ll receive Lump Sum or cash amount.

  33. Gloria Collado says

It’s ok for me to pay higher contribution to SSS as long as it will be me who will be benefited by that increase and not the employees of SSS, receiving million bonuses.

  34. Noemi S. Apolinario says

Go to the SSS branch near you and bring your valid IDs and update your membership status as voluntary and resume your payment of contributions. The SSS staff will gladly assist you and tell you whatever you need to know about your account. Don’t hesitate to ask anything if you have questions in mind :) SSS is important in our life so we must always maintain being an active member to enjoy all the benefits given to us as members and future pensioners.

It was illustrated above table that for voluntary members it’s P1,760.00 and not P 1,790 after my retirement why is it that I was not informed paying the same contributions of an employed should had been lower than P1560.00 indtead? Other question i will be turning 60 yo on April 6, 2014 do I still have to pay whole month of April or prorated? Tnx

I have my sss that time na kinakaltas sa sahod ko mga 3 months lng ako tumagal sa work ko nag resign ako kasi my conflict sa schedule ko sa school and hindi na ko nakapag hulog from that time to present. And right now gsto ko ulit hulugan ung sss ko or do i need to apply for a new account? btw i work as a freelance web programmer for almost 3 years so dun ba ko sa self employed na bracket or voluntary?

    TIA

    • Marifel Dungo says

You don’t need to apply for a new SSS account because we must ONLY have 1 SSS number for life. Just bring your E1 form or prepare your SSS number if you remember it and bring valid IDs at the SSS and update your membership as Voluntary or Self-employed if you want to resume your active status

    Hi Ms. Fehl,

good day po! My fist loan was 2008, nakapag bayad pa po ang previous employer ko ng 7 months (Oct-April 2009) para sa loan ko. Na lay off po ako, then I got my new job and pina continue ko po sa current employer ko. nag start po ako ng Sept 2011.-February 2013. I was expecting na tapos na po un loan ko. Nag try po ako mag loan last Jan 2014. Then sabi skin is my Obligation pa daw ako na P17k+ .

    • Marifel Dungo says

Hello :) I suggest you check your account personally po sa SSS. They will print naman your payment history. All loans bear interests and interests bear more interests when they are not settled fully in due time. TIME + MONEY + INTEREST RATE are big factors po kahit sa bangko din. So as much as possible, don’t get loans if you don’t really need them.

  51. ken says

hello po. my last sss ccontribution was dec 2013, im unemployed since January i wish to continue my contribution, is it okay if i choose the max contribution for voluntary members?\my monthly deadline is every 20th of the month. if i pay now, do i have to pay for january and feb as well?

    thanks

    • Marifel Dungo says

If you want to switch as Voluntary Member, you need to to update your membership status as VM by going to the SSS and filling up updating form. Then start paying your contributions. Yes, if you can afford the maximum amount every month, why not? That would benefit you. Make sure though you pay continuously and don’t miss any month to ensure your active status and eligibility to benefits or retirement benefits in the future. You can pay quarterly instead of monthly so it will be less hassle. I recommend you to register online for an SSS account too so you can see your SSS records and contributions are up to date. Good luck!

  53. mary ann cabale says

Pano po ba pag di ka nakaabot ng 10 years ang nabayaran mong sss contribution hindi ka ba mkakatanggap ng monthly pension pagdating mo ng 60 years old

    • Marifel Dungo says

For monthly pension or monthly retirement pension, the minimum requirement as of now is 120 months of contributions per SSS. If under 120 months, I think you can receive cash or lump sum only not monthly pension

I suggest you settle your loan if you can so that you don’t need to worry about it and the interests. Go to the SSS office and verify the best option for you

  59. michael cortez says

    • Fehl says

The online system was not accepting your SBR number because it was too old. I think the system can only accept the latest 3 months or 6 months (if I’m not mistaken). You need to be an active SSS member before you can register for an online account. I suggest you help your mother to update and resume her membership at the SSS to become active again and enjoy benefits

    • Fehl says

Rumor is not true. SSS is always supported by our government. It will be a worst case scenario if it went bankrupt. If ever, the government will have to help it recover by funding it. SSS, GSIS, Pagibig, Philhealth are all supported by the government. You cannot apply for loan if you are not eligible. Only active members and eligible members can avail benefits.

hi. I am a voluntary member for almost ten (10) years already. What should we do if we want to increase our monthly contributions? Ako kasi, I simply paid the higher rates when I fill out the payment forms and pay sa bank. I was told kasi that you cannot increase your monthly contribution by more than 2 levels at a single time. Example is (based on 2014 Table of Contribution) if my present contribution is P1,045 per month, I can only go up to P1,155. Is this true?

  69. Kami says

I have a question. Example, I paid for April last April (220 php) tas nagbayad ulit ako for April this May – 550 pesos (overlooked) thru online.

    • Fehl says

If you are currently married, I think you must update your status as married to avoid any profile problem in the future unless you are legally separated or annulled. Your children can also benefit from that especially if they use your married surname. Consistency is always important. You can get your pension anyway using your married surname and it will be just yours. Just saying :)

  76. Arlene says

question po ulit ms.

    • Fehl says

Go to Employment History and Actual Premiums. Type the date since you started paying SSS and all your premiums will appear

She followed up on Monday/June 16th and was told that it is still being processed. She really needs her UMID card this week to show to her recruitment agency. Is there a way you can help out to get it expedited?

    • Fehl says

I hear some delay regarding the issuance of UMID cards. It’s either the Philpost or SSS that know this concern.

1.) How & what age can we apply for SSS Retirement pension? need pa rin ba ituloy contribution if nka complete kna ng required yrs of contribution?

2.) If an SSS member is single, who is authorize to be his/her dependent?

3.) If a pensioner died, paano na un?

    • Fehl says

      1. Right now it’s age 60. Yup, you still need to continue your contributions even though you’ve reached 120 months already so that your retirement benefits and pension will increase. If you know how inflation affects the economy, you will definitely resume it
      2. parents or legal dependents like adopted child
      3. her dependents/beneficiaries will be entitled for survivorship benefits or monthly pension if they are eligible and the one who paid for funeral expenses will be entitled for P20,000 (if Im not mistaken) as funeral benefit

    thank you

    • Fehl says

For maternity I think you need 9 months of contributions before the semester of your child birth. Semester is 6 months so you need almost a year of continuous contributions

I registered my account 8years ago, I can no longer access my email add that is associated with my sss login. Is here any way that I can register again using a different email add?

    • Fehl says

You already registered so you cannot register another online account anymore. The system will not accept your SSS number if you try. The solution with your case is to reset your account. Go to the SSS eCenter section and request for a reset of your username and password. Prepare for your valid IDs, SSS number and preferred new email username and password

    • Fehl says

Your employer has shares in every SSS contributions being paid, if you want to increase contributions, might as well let your salary increase. Employed members follow the salary brackets.

  93. lilia a. vicente says

I started getting my sss monthly pension in 2010. 4 years na po. Wala po bang scheme ang SSS for pension increase , like in the United States that SS pensioners get regular increases because the US government recognizes the price increases of food, medicine and medical services . I started contributing to our SSS in 1970 to 2000. Today 2014 from 1970, nag baloon na po ang numbers of Filipino population and Filipino workers SSS contributors and private business employers. In this light Consideration lang po sana sa senior citizen former SSS member and contributors passed our productive years na maisip din naman ng SSS na magbigay naman sana ng pension increase sa aming mga retired contributors passed our productive years. MATHEMATICALLY VERY MINIMAL LANG PO YAN and very business feasible and will surely return in the form of GOODWILL, GOD WILL TO SSS AND ITS PRESENT CONTRIBUTORS.

First, let your company owner to register the Computer Shop business name in SSS assuming may DTI and Mayors permit nayan. Your company owner then will list all his employees names during the registration to SSS. Let him add you as Authorized Signatory if you will be the one to do the SSS staff and reports every month. Your contribution will be based on your salary and the latest SSS contribution table

August 2014. She must update her membership as Voluntary Member by submitting form, then pay her contributions continuously to enjoy benefits

It’s better to invest on Stocks than SSS. I stopped my SSS Contribution as Voluntary last year. Nawalan ako ng gana ng makita ko sa news mga SSS highly positioned officers used the money of the Filipino people for investment. Would you believe I emailed for follow-up and complaint last year (September 2013 regarding sa error nila sa SSS Contribution ko and just yesterday lang sila nag-reply?!!! (August 28, 2014)!!! Unbelievable!!! Grabe. Pagong system ang SSS and I doubt it kung makukuha ko ang retirement ko sa SSS contribution kasi for sure, papahirapan ka muna bago makuha yung retirement mo. It’s better to invest na lang at least sa yo mapupunta yung pinaghirapan mo. I don’t recommend SSS. Kapal nila magtaas ng contribution!!!!

    • Fehl says

I hear you. I think the government must employ more staff for SSS and other government agencies coz we need and deserve faster service. There are so many Filipinos looking for jobs and many government offices lack personnel.

  102. Annie says

separated ,na aq sa employer ko last july. automatically mapuputol yung sss remittance ko. since ayoko ko munang magtrabaho at gusto ko pong ipagapatuloy yung contribution q. pwedi po bang ma convert yun?

    • Fehl says

Yes, it is actually a must to have continuous contributions. Just update your membership status as Voluntary Member if you’re not working anymore

  103. Nelgn Vil says

    • Fehl says

I recommend everyone to invest to different investment wheels like Mutual Funds, UITFs and stock market. They have higher earning potentials than SSS, GSIS and Pagibig

You need to update your new status, if unemployed, you can be a voluntary member. Then pay your contributions. Check out the SSS contribution table to know how much you would like to contribute every month. It’s up to you

You can ask your employer about the unposted contributions. If they submitted the reports, your contributions will be posted accordingly

    • Fehl says

Since you are OFW, the minimum salary credit for you is 5000. If your salary is 15,750 and above, your monthly contribution will be 1,760. See table for OFW above

    Hi,

I’ve been separated from my previous company last June of this year and I want to continue my contribution voluntarily. Which amount should I need to pay from the above bracket.

    • Fehl says

The amount that you’re comfortable to pay monthly. It’s up to you po how much you’re suitable to contribute monthly and for a long time

  115. Ken says

What do you mean by range of compensation? Is it just the basic pay? Or does it include the allowances? Im confused kasi. Thank you! :)

  116. suzie19 says

Well… they just want the money of the member without consideration for the member! Even I paid for continuous 7yrs I didn’t use the benefits as a member. I stop the payment for 2 years when I become an OFW, then I started paying again from the time I knew I was pregnant and I paid 1,760 for 7 months. When I went back Philippines and resigned from my job due to my pregnancy, I went at SSS Bacoor branch to file for maternity benefit but just feel very disappointed to hear from their staff that I cannot avail any single amount of money that I paid for 7 years and 6 months since I don’t have a 12 months continuous contribution. I told the staff that I will undergo CS according to my OB so I ask them if they can help me and have little consideration but she just told me that it was the company policy. So tell me now will you ever waste your money paying for this crazy government company policy? In times you mostly need their help of your “own money”?

    • Fehl says

SSS is an insurance company and as members, we cannot avail most benefits if we are not active members. Sad but true. Imagine that money you have contributed for 7 years, if you just invested that money for Mutual Funds, stocks, or UITF, you are surely a millionaire now. That is why I always tell people here to invest.

  124. Scarlett says

Hi maam, may I ask why there is a huge difference between SSS and GSIS contributions? I am currently working for the government, but I’m planning to transfer to a private company. Currently, my GSIS contributions amount to P5k+ including government share, but if I were earning the same salary in a private company, I will only be contributing only P1k+ to SSS. Does this mean that GSIS offer more benefits to its members? I hope you can enlighten me on this. Thank you. :)

Also, if I’ll be employed by a private company, what will happen to my GSIS contributions? Will I be able to withdraw them? If yes, when?

    • Fehl says

Hi, Scarlett. The reason why your contribution in GSIS is much higher is because retirement benefits are also higher. Also GSIS members are given dividends every time the board declared them for members. Growth of funds in GSIS is higher than that of SSS. It’s like the logic of investing, the more you invest, the more you will profit in the end. I can say yes, GSIS offers more benefits than when you are in the SSS because in SSS, the employers are private firms while in GSIS, your employer is the government. Bankruptcy is very impossible if you’re employed in the government. What happens to your GSIS benefits if you transfer to a private company? You may avail benefits if you’re entitled. Read http://philpad.com/list-of-gsis-benefits-in-the-philippines/ to know what benefit applies to you.
